Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival waves goodbye to Hurricane Earl!
According to news reports, Hurricane Earl is expected to pass by well off the South Carolina coast, heading north by the Outer Banks of North Carolina later today. Local meteorologists have reported the storm has begun to turn northward because of an approaching cold front and a ridge of high pressure out in the Atlantic.
While Myrtle Beach will see an increase in rip currents and ocean waves, it is not projected to be affected by this storm in any other way so the 5th Annual Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival will take place as scheduled. Festival attendees can expect sunny weather with temperatures in the upper 80s.
